Morton Samuel Goldstein, M.D., 72, formerly of Bayonne, N.J., died Sunday, May 16, 2010, at Whispering Pines, rural Bellefonte.
Born Dec. 16, 1937, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Irwin and Sarah Belle Kasdan Goldstein. He graduated from Butler Area High School in 1955. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Washington and Jefferson University in 1959, and his M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1963. He served in the U.S. Army as a Major during the Vietnam War. He practiced medicine in Bayonne, N.J. for 25 years and was known for his care and compassion.
He was an avid sports fan, especially for the Steelers and the Pirates. He enjoyed golf, the cinema and reading.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2010, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rabbi Nosson Meretsky officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
