Patricia Siggins, 84, of State College died on Monday, May 9, 2011 at her home. She was born in Punxutawney, PA on April 20, 1927; a daughter of the late Frank and Hannah Copeland VanDyke. On August 26, 1950 she married Raymond Siggins who survives at home. Patricia grew up in Lewistown, PA and attended Westchester State Teachers College where she met her husband. They moved to Raymond’s hometown of Mineola, Long Island, NY where she taught first grade and raised her family. She was a loving mother and dedicated teacher who loved her students and had a genuine fondness for them. She would often stop and talk to small children and their parents who were delighted by her kindness. All who knew her loved her warm smile. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always stressed the positive points to every situation.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two children, her daughter Cindy and her son Michael and his wife Kim who also live in State College, PA. All services and remembrances of Patricia are private. As she was a teacher in life, Patricia was donated to medical research so that she could continue to teach.
