Phyllis Jean Fleck Holderman, age 83, of Bellefonte, PA passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born April 30, 1930, in Bellefonte, PA, Phyllis married Donald M. Holderman who survives.
She attended the Bellefonte Area High School, worked as a nurse’s aide and was a homemaker. Most important to Phyllis was her family. She found time not only to lovingly raise and support her children, but continued to be a positive influence in their lives, the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed attending her family’s sporting events and family reunions in addition to taking bus trips with her sisters. She also loved playing bingo with her friends.
Phyllis is survived by one daughter: Linda Coder (Jay) of Howard, PA; five sons, Thomas Holderman (Donna) of Wexford, PA; Randall Holderman (Terri) of Bellefonte, PA; Joseph Holderman (BJ) of State College, PA; Donnie Holderman (Gwen) of Bellefonte, PA; Robert Holderman (Lori) of Hublersburg, PA. She had fourteen grandchildren; Lisa Harter; Michael Coder; Susan Holden; Scott Holderman; Brian Holderman; Jennifer Geesey; Chelsea Pletcher; Leslie Gibson; Brennan Holderman; Justin McAulay; Kylee Holderman; Jacob Holderman; Jonas Holderman, and Emma Holderman; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters: Maxine Krebs of State College, PA; Louise Brown-Mundy of Bellefonte, PA; Joanne Morrice (Bob) of Severna Park, MD; one brother: James Fleck (Pat) of Liverpool, NY, and five nephews and five nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Anna Fleck, two brothers: William Fleck and Robert Fleck.
Phyllis was of the Methodist Faith.
There will be no viewing.
Family and friends will be received at Faith United Methodist Church, 512 Hughes St., Bellefonte, PA on Saturday, February 15 from 3:00 – 4:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service with the Pastor Andy Morgan officiating beginning at 4:00. Burial will be a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Phyllis’ memory may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 512 Hughes Street, Bellefonte, PA 16823 or to a Charity of the donor’s choice.
