Ray Howard "JR" Lamey, Jr., 41, of McConnellstown, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born April 25, 1968, in Bellefonte, he was a son of Aida Mae Weagley Lamey of McConnelstown, and the late Ray Howard Lamey, Sr. On Aug. 8, 1998, he married Cynthia Wasson Jones, who survives.
He was a 1986 graduate of Penn Valley High School and Centre County VoTech in Automotive Mechanics. He then attended Vail Tech and graduated from their Automotive Mechanics and Auto Body programs in 1988. He was the owner of Lamey Enterprises and former owner of Ray's, Inc. He was a Protestant by faith. JR enjoyed softball and hunting and was a Steelers fan. He was a loving grandfather, father, husband and son. He will be greatly missed by his pets.
Along with his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Christina Marie Stover and her husband, Chad, of Spring Mills; two grandchildren, Nolen Matthew Stover and Aliza Marie Stover; and two sisters, Lorrie Slack and her husband, Herb and Missy Crust and her husband, Bob, all of Spring Mills; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7 at the funeral home.
