Richard (Rick) G. Bloom, 68, of Bellefonte, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. He was born on July 30, 1944, in Spring Township, the son of Glenn M. and Mary (Hoover) Bloom. On June 12, 1964, he married Ginger Waite who survives at home.
Richard was a graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. He was a supervisor at Ridge Homes until its closing and then owned and operated Centre Hall Hardware in Centre Hall. Richard was a life member of Bellefonte Undines and Bellefonte American Legion Post #33.
He is also survived by two children, Chris Bloom and wife Lea Ann of Julian and Jodi Johnson and husband Jim of Port Matilda and grandchildren; Jacob and Julia Bloom, Kaylee Johnson, Paula and Will Barton and Patrick Johnson. He is also survived by a sister, Darlene Johnstonbaugh and husband Paul of Bellefonte.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his infant sister, Mary Louise and brother, Robert.
There will be a public viewing held on Monday, July 1, 2013, from 10:00 am until 11:00am, with funeral services to immediately follow at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte, with Pastor Calvin Miller officiating.
Burial will follow in Meyer Cemetery, Benner Township.
