Robert T. Stocks, 63, of Latrobe, formally of State College, died Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at his residence.
He was born November 15, 1950, in State College, the son of the late Robert Stocks and Barbara (King) Stocks Hampton.
On August 29, 1992, he married Kelly E. Miller, who survives at home.
Robert worked for Corning in the maintenance department, retiring in 2006 after 34 years of service, he also
served in the Army reserves for six years.
He was a member of the Legion in the Woods. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening canning, cooking and spending time at his camp on his son’s farm in Warriors Mark. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, his friends and entertaining.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Rob C. (Nicole) Stocks of Warriors Mark and Kyle (Kayla) Rockey of Lewistown; one step son, Joshua (Holly) Gardner of New Bethlehem; three grandchildren, William D. Stocks of Warriors Mark, Aidan and Nolan Gardner of New Bethlehem, two sisters, Cheryl (Scott) VanPelt of Hurricane, WV, and Ginger (Rick) Swanger of State College; and one brother, Ernie Hampton of State College.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his step-father Ernest C. Hampton, Sr.
A visitation will be held 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, Sunday, January 12, 2014, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College and noon to 1 PM, Monday, January 13 at the funeral home. The funeral service will follow at 1 PM with the Reverend M. Lee Ellenberger officiating. Interment will follow in Gray’s Cemetery.
