Robert W. 'Bob' McClenahan, 79, of Centre Hall, died unexpectedly Monday, August 2, 2010, at Hearthside Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in State College.

Bob was born April 4, 1931 at Lewistown, a son of the late Robert 'Painter' and Elizabeth M. Orren McClenahan.

On April 14, 1954, he married Helen C. Sutton who preceded him in death on August 2, 1990.

Bob was a 1948 graduate of Centre Hall Potter High School., and served in the U. S. Army, July 7, 1955 until April 12, 1957. Earlier in life he was employed in food service at the Penn State University. He spent part of his life in the transportation industry, having driven school bus for Millers in Centre Hall, and working as a tour bus driver, taxi driver and truck driver. For many years he worked as a baker at Riverside and Bi Lo Markets retiring from that position

His memberships included St. Luke Lutheran Church where he served as a janitor; he was an active member of the Centre Hall Fire Company and the Fire Police, serving as Captain of the Fire Police; and was a member of the Centre County Fire Police Association. He was also a member of the former Centre Hall-Potter Ambulance Company. One of his favorite hobbies was hunting.

Surviving him are his children, Carol Ann Tuttle (Bruce) of Flint MI, Terry Jean Kerstetter (Ray) of Coburn, and Donna L. Laird (Joe) of Centre Hall, and one son R. Brad McClenahan (Connie) of Centre Hall; one sister Priscilla L. Olliver of Dover, DE; two brothers, Richard O. McClenahan of Long Beach, CA and Donald A. McClenahan of Dover, DE; thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a constant companion, his Black Lab 'Lady'.

Friends will be received from 6-8 p. m. Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall and from 10:00 to 11:00 a. m. Friday, August 6, 2010, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 301 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall. The funeral will follow immediately at 11:00 a. m. at the church with the Reverend Scott A. Klimke officiating. Burial will follow at the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery, West Church St. Centre Hall.
