Ronald Leroy Sager, 82, of Bellefonte, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born February 23, 1932, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Anna Belle (Stere) Sager. He was married to Sally Perks Sager, who preceded him in death.
He was a graduate of Bellefonte High School and had retired from Sutton Engineering as a machinist. Ron was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Bellefonte Moose.
He is survived by his three children; Sharon Keeler and her husband Al, of Bellefonte, Ron Sager and his wife Rose Marie, of Unionville, Lori Shultz and her husband Skip, of Bellefonte; two sisters, Donna McDonald of Bellefonte and Mary Ann Jabco of Lamar. Also surviving Ron are three grandchildren; Jon Sager, Jamie Swisher, Jessica Shaffer, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Beverly Hendershot and one brother, LeMoine Sager.
A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, from 6-8 pm, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, PA, with a Vigil for the Deceased at 7:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 10:00 am, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 134 E. Bishop St., Bellefonte, PA with Father George Jakopac officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Bellefonte.
