Silver B. Vermillion, 73, of Coburn, passed from this life on Thursday, November 13th at her home. Born on July 26, 1941 in Milroy, Silver was a daughter of the late William and Ruth (Arnold) Swanger. In August of 1974, Silver was united in marriage to Marvin E. Vermillion, who preceded her in death in 2012.
Silver had been employed at the former Laurelton State Hospital as a cook. She attended St. James United Methodist Church in Coburn. She was an avid pinochle player and enjoyed watching television, shopping and visiting with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Reggero (Ronnie), Ruthanne Branch (Juan) and one daughter in law, Valerie Vermillion; six sons, Mike Vermillion (Karen), Joe Vermillion, (Vivian), Robin Vermillion (Felinda), Richard Vermillion (Patty), Robert “Smitty” Smith (Alanna) and Tracey Vermillion (Kim). Also surviving is one sister, Goldie Wileman, twenty six grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren. Silver was preceded in death by one son, Larry Vermillion; one daughter, Cathy Vermillion; six brothers, John, Robert, Elmer “Bucky”, Harry, Perry, and Richard Swanger; and three sisters, Anna Mae Hassinger, Leah Kauffman and Betty Maben.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home on Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 6-7:30. The memorial service will follow at 7:30 with Pastor Chris Lutz officiating. Silver will be laid to rest in Fairview West Cemetery.
