Steven Martin. Odland, 65, of State College, died Monday November 4, 2013 at his home.
Born June 30, 1948, in Bellefonte, a son of the late Martin L. Odland and Ethel G. Wentzel.
On October 31, 1981 , in State College, at the Grace Lutheran Church, he married Linda L. Losch who survives at home.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Angel Odland of State College, two sons, Leonard (Glenda) of Julian, and Donald of Lock haven, two brothers, Ronald (Beverly) of State College, Gerald (Dianne) of West Friendship MD, eleven grandchildren, Sabrina,Michael,Paul,Christopher, Lacey, Damian, Haley, Zachary, Steven, Joshua, and Kaitlynn, two nephews, Brian and Kevin.
Steven served in the US Navy on the USS Long Beach during the Vietnam War. He was proud to be a Veteran. In June 2013 he retired from the Visual Arts Department at Penn State University after thirty two years of service.
He was a 1967 State College graduate, a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in State College, a member of the Local Eight Union where he served as a Union Stewart, a member of the VFW post 265 in State College;
Steven enjoyed deep sea fishing and he was an avid woodworker, a great husband, dad, and grandpa. He loved spending time with his family, and his pets.
Along with his parents he is preceded by his brother Sheldon and a granddaughter Melissa.
Friends will be received from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801, and 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Grace Lutheran Church 205 S. Garner Street, State College, where a Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM.with Revered P. Stevens Lynn Officiating.
