Thomas L. McMinn Jr. 54, a long time resident of Pleasant Gap, died Sunday, February 13, 2011, in Spring Township.
He was born September 29, 1956 in Lynn, Mass.; a son of Thomas L McMinn Sr. who survives at Bellefonte, and late Eleanor Ruth Atkinson.
Tom graduated from Bellefonte High School in 1974, and served in the U. S. Marines during the Viet Nam War. His sons said their goal in life is to emulate their father in service to country and the community. They are both already making that goal a reality.
Versatile in many areas, he worked in various industries as well as working in a security position with St. Moritz Security Systems.
An avid outdoorsman, Tom especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and long distance biking.
Tom is survived by two sons Shawn P. McMinn and Shane T. McMinn both of Bellefonte; one sister, Susan Ripka and her husband Robert of Bellefonte; two brothers, John McMinn and his wife Susan of Hanover and Christopher “Cricket” McMinn of Spring Mills.
All services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
