Vincent C. Luther, 88, of Bellefonte, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at his home.
Born on July 31, 1922, a son of the late Martin Luther and Susan Kardohely. He was a graduate of Morris Township High School. Vincent married Virginia Timcoe of Osceola Mills on Sept. 23, 1953. He was a veteran who served in the US Army during World War II. He was a faithful and devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Vincent had worked at Cerro Copper and Brass for 37 years until retirement. He belonged to the Nittany Country Club and was a great golfer. He was also a lifetime avid Penn State Nittany Lion and Pittsburgh Pirate fan.
Along with his wife Virginia, he is survived by one son, Ronald Luther and his wife, Stephanie, of Zion; two daughters, Brenda Morrison and her husband, Jim, of Bellefonte, and Kathy Peter and her husband, Dan, of Flemington. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Nicole Eckley, of Bellefonte, Pamela Peter, of Pomfret, Md., Douglas Peter, of Erie, and Michael Eckley and his wife, Erin, of Jersey Shore. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Tucker Alan and Madison, of Jersey Shore; three sisters, Delores Zelenky, of Grassflat, Mildred Frank, of Henrietta, N.Y., and Marcella Love, of Houtzdale; and one brother, Fred Luther and his wife, of Hawk Run. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Alan Luther, one brother, William Luther, two sisters Mary Bunyak and Sister Georginia, a Roman Catholic Nun.
Visitation and services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Father Neil R. Dadey will officiate the service for the family. Burial will follow in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery, Bellefonte. Arrangements by Wetzler Funeral Service Inc., Bellefonte.
