Virgil S. Meyer, 66, of Centre Hall died Thursday, July 16, 2015, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Virgil was born on October 23, 1948 in Bellefonte.
He was a Pipeline Technician. Virgil was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Group where he received three Purple Hearts, three Bronze Stars with V device (for special courage) and numerous other accommodations. He was a member of Bellefonte VFW Post 1600, Milesburg American Legion Post 893, he enjoyed gun smithing, hunting and fishing. He had built many pig roasters throughout central Pennsylvania. He was a versatile tradesman.
He was the son of the late Hassel E. Meyer and Vera E. Viehdorfer Meyer Sheets.
Virgil has two daughters: Jamie Corl and Raylene, one sister Eileen Jabco and two brothers Stanley B. Meyer, Dallas E. Meyer and wife, Susan Johnson-Meyer and Spencer Meyer and wife, Chris.
Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, Milesburg, PA.
