Pastor Warren G. Somers Sr., 79, husband of Lucretia K. of Bellefonte, reached his eternal home peacefully while at rest in his earthly home, on Friday, September 26, 2014.

He was born August 28, 1935 in the JC Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon, a son of the late Samuel M. and Helen O. Somers.

He graduated June 1, 1954 from Captain Jack High School in Mt. Union.

On June 26, 1954, he married his true love, Lucretia Knable Somers. They celebrated sixty years of marriage.

Warren is survived by his spouse and his children; Wayne G. Somers (Nancy L) of Middletown, PA, Rebecca C. Somers of Cleveland, TN, and Ruthie C. Gabrovsek (Mark J) of Bellefonte, one daughter-in-law Sharon Somers from Bellefonte; five grandchildren, Duane S. Somers (Sherri), Julia R. Crone (Andy), Kelly L. Weis (Jared), Ashley N. Somers, and his little buddy R. Jaeden Gabrovsek; ten great grandchildren; four siblings Joyce Frak, Thomas Somers, Anna Emrich, and Mary Somers.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his parents in law, Charles and Florine Knable, his oldest son Warren Somers Jr. and a great granddaughter Mackenzie G Crone.

Pastor Somers was a minister with the Church of God headquartered in Cleveland, TN, from 1982 -2014. He was a life insurance agent with New York Life until 2001. He owned and operated Warrens TV and appliances Stores from 1971 to 1982.

Friends will be received from 5:30 to 8:00 Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at the First Baptist Church, 539 Jacksonville Road, Bellefonte, and from 9:30 to 11:00 am Wednesday October 1, 2014 at the church. A celebration of life will follow immediately at 11:00 at the church with Pastor Greg Shipe, Bishop Kenneth Bell – Church of God State Overseer, and Pastor Duane Nicholson, Officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Nebo Cemetery, Route 522 S. near Mt. Union. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions, in his memory may be made to First Baptist Church, 539 Jacksonville Road, Bellefonte, PA 16823; to continue various ministries which were meaningful to Pastor Somers.
