Zane G. Gordon, 72, of Spring Mills, died Sunday June 28, 2009, at home. He was born March 22, 1937, a son of the late Homer G. Gordon and Shelia Laverne Nunamaker Gordon. On June 5, 1958, in Schellsburg, he married Nancy L. Claycomb, who resides at home.
He was a graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a farmer and an installer for Bell Telephone, from which he retired. Zane worked with and taxied his Amish friends. He collected Allis Chalmers tractors. He enjoyed hunting and he and his wife Nancy traveled the United States.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Joy A. and (Sean) McMullen in Virginia and Opal G. and (Dean II) Poeth, in New York; a son, Gary Z. and (Maureen) Gordon, of DuBois; five grandchildren, Dean III, Anna, Harry, Elizabeth and Barry; and two sisters, Faye Mort, of Imler and Kaye Pogue, in Ohio.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009, at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2009, at Fishertown
