Patricia G. “Gayle” Sunday, 80, of State College, joined her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. Born on July 13, 1942, in Pine Grove Mills, she was the daughter of the late Hugh M. and Freda E. (Horner) McClintic. In 1961, she married the love of her life, Paul E. Sunday, who entered his eternal rest on July 1, 2012.
Gayle graduated from State College Area High School in 1960. She was employed as a bank teller at the SPE Federal Credit Union in State College for many years.
Gayle was a member of the Pine Grove Presbyterian Church. She was a faithful woman. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and working in the yard. She loved to spend her time painting, knitting, and crocheting. She was a woman with a great sense of humor and a very caring heart.
Gayle is survived by her three sisters, Nancy Grubb of Bellefonte, Bari Reese of Pine Grove Mills, and Vicki Kawa of Alaska. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and her church family and friends that will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2022, at 1pm, at the Pine Grove Mills Presbyterian Church with Rev. Carl Campbell officiating. Gayle will be privately laid to rest next to her husband at the Gatesburg Cemetery in Ferguson Township.
