Patrick C. Sheckler, 66, of Bellefonte, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on August 2, 1959, in Milesburg, he was the son of late John W. and Joan E. (McKinley) Sheckler. On August 2, 1996, he married his beloved wife, Michelle (Perryman) Sheckler, who survives him at home after sharing nearly 30 years of marriage together.
Pat was a 1977 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. He worked for M2 Construction until his retirement in 2024 after 28 years of faithful service. During his career he was able to forge what would become lifelong friendships with colleagues all over Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware. To know Pat was to know his dedication and hard work ethic. Those who worked for him were taught to work hard and considered themselves lucky, taking in a wealth of knowledge, but being such a tough worker, some would also consider themselves lucky not to have to work for him too!
In addition to his wife, Michelle, he is survived by his children, Cameron Sheckler of Milesburg, Samantha Sheckler (Clint Clouse) of Port Matilda, Josh Dale (Jessica Ream) of Julian, and Jamie Dale of Bellefonte; four grandchildren, Alaina Magazu, Sydni Shirk, Sophia Dale, and Rowynn Dale, and his best furry friend, Boog the dog. Also surviving are his siblings, William Sheckler (Pam) of Milesburg, Joel Sheckler of Bellefonte, Michael Sheckler of Clintondale, and Susan Wagner (Eric) of Mingoville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat was a member of the Undine Fire Company, VFW Post #1600, Sons of American Legion Club #33, and the Moose Lodge #206, all in Bellefonte. He was an avid Penn State fan and the Los Angeles Rams – “the greatest show on turf.” He enjoyed being outside and going riding and spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral and burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
