Phyllis Jean Houser, of rural Spring Mills, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.  She was 87.  Born November 27, 1933 in Millerton, Bradford County PA, Phyllis was a daughter of the late Henry Glenright Butcher and Ruby Inez “Smith” Butcher.  Phyllis was a 1950 graduate of Troy Senior High School.  On December 31, 1977 she married Guy S. Houser who preceded her in death on January 7, 2011. 

Phyllis was employed for seventeen years at the former Gettig Technologies in Spring Mills.  She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, reading and camping.  But most of all Phyllis loved the time she spent with her family.

Surviving are two daughters, Kimber Poorman of Rebersburg and Cristy Rachau (Douglas) of Madisonburg; two sons, Steven Bellows (Becky) of Watkins Glen, NY and Colby Bellows (Tammy) of Troy and, one stepson, Terry Houser (Jane) of Madisonburg.  Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.  Phyllis was preceded in death by one son, Adam Bellows; two grandsons, Joey Ray Bellows and Jedediah Bellows and, eleven siblings and their spouses…Hazel Toothacher (Jack), Harry Butcher (Margaret), Raymond Butcher (Agnes), Mary Russin (Mike), Lillian Chamberlain (Pete), Ruby Tanner (Bill), Harold Butcher (Margarita), Carol Morrison (George), Blanch Gregory (Sam) Bill Butcher (Irene) and Bob Butcher (Doris)

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, May 9, 2021 from 1-2 pm, followed by The Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm with Sam Purcell officiating.  Phyllis will be laid to rest in the Daggett Cemetery in Tioga County.  Contributions in memory of Phyllis may be given to Centre County PAWS, 1401 Trout Road, State College, PA 16801.
