R. Dennis “Denny” Myers, of Centre Hall, passed away peacefully at his home on November 3, 2022. He was 78. Born September 14, 1944 in Bellefonte, Denny was a son of the late Robert E. Myers and Gladys H. (Grove) Myers who survives in Spring Mills. Denny was a 1962 graduate of Penns Valley High School. On June 20, 1992, he married Ruth Ann Watson who survives at their home in Centre Hall.
In addition to his mother and wife, Denny is survived by one daughter, Nicole “Niki” Aumiller (Kevin) of McClure; one son, Terry L. Myers (Patty) of Madisonburg; one brother, Jeffrey Myers (Cathy) of Spring Mills and two stepsons, Michael McGee (Kathy) of Millheim and Timothy McGee of Pittsburgh. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Cameron Aumiller (Kayla), Kyle Myers (Amanda) and Kolton Aumiller (Sara), along with three step grandchildren, Kenzia Lingle (Jarren), Chassidy Lingle and Maxwell Confer. Denny was preceded in death by brothers, Barry Myers and Roger and Rodney Myers who were twins.
Denny was an owner/operator of the former Myers Brothers Meat Market in Spring Mills. He was a member of the New Hope Lutheran Church in Spring Mills. You could usually find him in the corner of the kitchen, during the public dinners, running the dishwasher and occasionally squirting someone with water. He was an avid sports fan, enjoying all things Pittsburgh and Penn State, plus NASCAR as well. Denny had a love for gardening, especially flowers. He spent many hours outside during the summer tending them, and in the winter propagating them in his basement. He also collected sports memorabilia and, in his younger years, enjoyed hunting. Denny and Ruth Ann hold a permanent camping spot at Hemlock Acres where Denny loved to host family gatherings especially during holidays.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, from 10-11 am at the New Hope Lutheran Church in Spring Mills, followed by the Celebration of Life service at 11:00 am with Pastor Lauretta Dietrich officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Denny may be given to New Hope Lutheran Church, 119 Cobblestone Court, Spring Mills, PA 16875.
