Randolph C. “Randy” Shawley, 65, of Milesburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Born February 12, 1961, in Philipsburg, he was the son of Helen (Reish) (Shawley) Hale of Julian and the late Joseph Shawley. On July 30, 1983, at Brookside Wesleyan Church, Randy married Cindy L. Bickle, who survives at home.

Randy was a 1979 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School and also earned a certificate in Mechanics from the Centre County Vo-Tech that same year. On March 14, 1983, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. During his service, he was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award, and the Air Force Training Ribbon. He was honorably discharged on April 24, 1990.

Following his military service, Randy returned to Centre County and worked at Corning Asahi until its closing. He later worked as a mechanic at Weldon Equipment in Julian until his health forced him into retirement.

Randy was a member of Bellefonte VFW Post 1600, where he volunteered many hours and proudly served on the Funeral Honor Guard. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed trips to Big Rock Camp for hunting and weekend getaways.

Above all, Randy cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him great joy.

In addition to his mother and his wife, Randy is survived by his daughter, Crystal M. Stimer of Milesburg; three grandchildren, Heidi, Alexis, and Shane; and his brother, Dennis H. Shawley and his wife, Sharon, of Julian.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Shawley and step father, Robert Hale.

A celebration of Randy’s life will be held at the Bellefonte VFW at a later date and time to be announced, where full military honors will be accorded.
