Rebecca Leigh DeArmitt, 41, of Pleasant Gap, went to be with the lord on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at home. Born on November 9, 1983, in State College, she was the daughter of the late Donald L. DeArmitt and Molly J. (Hassinger) DeArmitt of Pleasant Gap.
Rebecca graduated from Bellefonte Area High School in 2002. Following her graduation, she enlisted with the United States Army, where she proudly served until June of 2010. She earned her master’s degree in psychology from the Universidad de Puerto Rico, Utuado. She previously worked as an office administrator but most recently at Mount Nittany Medical Center as a patient coordinator.
Rebecca was a bright shining beacon of love and strength for her family and friends. She had a strong-willed mind and loved her children. She had a strong faith in God. She never wanted to burden anyone but preferred to be the one that others turned to for help and compassion. She loved Hello Kitty and going out to eat. She held the title of daughter, sister, significant other, friend, but her most cherished title was mom. Her infectious smile, bubbly personality, and joking humor will be forever remembered and missed by all those blessed to have known her.
Along with her mother, Rebecca is survived by her partner in life, Carlos M. Clancy; four children, Alison A. Negron-DeArmitt, Adalyn S. Negron-DeArmitt, Manuel L. Clancy, and Madelyn A. Clancy; three sisters, Christine Moore (Glenn) of Huntingdon, Carol DeArmitt (Scott Meyers) of Pleasant Gap, and Deborah Hockenberry (Jason) of Osceola Mills; and nieces and nephews.
Following Rebecca’s wishes, there will be no services held at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Rebecca’s memory to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
