Richard A. Yakich, of Bellefonte, died at home on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at the age of 66. He was born on January 26, 1955, son of Robert and Patty Yakich, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Tom, in 2017, and Bob, in 2020.
Richard lived in the Bellefonte area all his life and worked in the construction industry.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Kathy, her daughters, Crystal Rearick of Bellefonte, and Jamie Haley of Carlisle. He is also survived by his new grandson, Bobby Haley. He also leaves behind his sister, Mary Alice McMurtrie (Barry) of Bellefonte, and their children, Julie Miron (Jason) of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Jason McMurtrie (Amber) of Bellefonte, and Jeff McMurtrie (Marsha), and their daughter, Miranda, all of Bellefonte.
Richard regularly attended the meetings of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where he learned about the Bible’s promise of the future resurrection (Acts 24:15). He treasured this hope of seeing his dead loved ones brought back to life here on Earth and we, who loved him and now mourn his loss, continue to look forward to that beautiful promise of God as well.
Arrangements for a memorial service will be held virtually and will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
Those who want to acknowledge his life and friendship may make donations in his memory to the State College Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 101 Villandry Blvd., State College, PA 16801.
