Ronald David Hipp, known affectionately as Ron, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024, in State College, due to complications from Pulmonary fibrosis caused by covid pneumonia in 2021. His passing leaves behind a void that will be deeply felt by all those that had the pleasure of knowing him. Born on April 14, 1963, in Altoona, Ron’s life was marked by a profound dedication to his family, a successful career, and a passion for the great outdoors.

He graduated from State College Area High School in 1981 and quickly demonstrated his commitment to supporting those he loved by working in a nursing home at just 16 years old. His culinary talent emerged during his time in Connecticut, where he honed his skills as a sous chef at a county club. Upon returning to State College, he worked alongside his father at Hipp Trucking Company, where he learned the intricacies of the family business.

His entrepreneurial spirit led him to become a partner in Playscapers and Ducken Tree Farm, and he became the proud owner of HTE Snow and Ice Management, where he led with a mix of dedication and innovation.

Ron’s zest for life was unparalleled, and his interests were as varied as they were intense. An avid scuba diver, he explored the world’s oceans, with the Great Barrier Reef in Australia holding a special place in his heart. His skills as a diver extended beyond recreation, as he was also a licensed rescue diver, always ready to lend a hand when needed. Hunting was another of Ron’s passions, and he embarked on many adventures, including memorable horseback trips out West. His precision and focus also shone through in his participation in IDPA handgun shooting competitions.

The outdoors was Ron’s sanctuary, and he reveled in the thrill of riding ATVs and dirt bikes on his farms. His love for speed and adventure carried over to the water, where he enjoyed speeding across Raystown Lake in his boats and jet skis, often accompanied by his brother and close friends.

Above all, Ron’s greatest joy was found in the time spent with his beloved children, Alessia Sofia Hipp and Luca Anthony Hipp, and his loyal boxer dog, Stryker. His role as a father was his most cherished, and the legacy of love and laughter he leaves with Alessia and Luca is immeasurable.

Ron’s family was the cornerstone of his life. He was predeceased by his father, Ronald R. Hipp, and is survived by his mother, June M. Hipp (Nigro); his sister, Lisa Ann Agostinelli and her husband, Ronald Agostinelli; his brother ;Randy Thomas Hipp and his wife, Susan Hipp; as well as four nephews and one niece, who all held a special place in his heart.

Those who knew Ron will remember him as a selfless and loving man, whose intelligence was matched only by his generosity. He had a remarkable ability to connect with others and leave a lasting impact on their lives. His presence was a source of strength and comfort to those around him, and his absence will be deeply felt.

As we mourn the loss of Ronald David Hipp, we also celebrate a life lived with vigor and purpose. His adventures, his dedication to his family, and his contributions to his community will not be forgotten. Ron’s spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will be treasured forever.
