Rose Marie Moyer, formerly of Woodward, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 9, 2026, at her home in Bellefonte.  She was 89.  Born September 22, 1936, in Woodward, Rose Marie was a daughter of the late Harold and Beatrice (Stover) Ard.  On May 13, 1956, Rose Marie married the love of her life, Kenneth E. “Foxy” Moyer who preceded her in death on August 14, 2020, after 64 years of marriage.

Rose Marie was a graduate of Penns Valley High School.  After high school, she attended State Beauty School and Empire Beauty School.  She received her permanent Vo-Ed Certification from Pennsylvania State University.  Rose Marie was employed as a cosmetology teacher at the former Centre County Vocational Technical School in Pleasant Gap, now Central Pennsylvania Institute of Technology. 

Rose Marie enjoyed putting puzzles together, cardmaking, needlepoint, feeding hummingbirds, flower gardening and playing bingo at Graystone where she lived.  She enjoyed her membership in two Red Hat groups.  The “Classy Chicks” in Pennsylvania and the “Ladies of the Manor” in Florida of which she was known as “The Queen”.  Rose Marie enjoyed collecting antiques, PSU wrestling and spending her winters in Florida with Ken.  She also enjoyed shopping on QVC, but most of all Rose Marie enjoyed spending time with her family.

 She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Woodward, the Penn State Wrestling Club and the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club. 

Rose Marie is survived by two children, Belinda A. Tyson (Brett) of Pleasant Gap and Ricky E. Moyer (Julie) of Suffolk, VA; one sister, Sandra Weyman (Michael) of Dalla, PA; one sister-in-law, Barbara Alexander of Philipsburg; and two grandchildren, Hannah Cherry (Clark) of Wilmington, NC and Trevor Moyer (Alison) of Suffolk, VA.  Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Emma Cherry, Riley Cherry, Landon Moyer and Lily Moyer.
