Sally Ann (Weaver) Laird, 85, passed from this life on Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Presbyterian Senior Living- Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg. Born on July 19, 1936, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Rosella (Miller) Weaver.
Sally attended State College Area High School. She retired from the State College Area School District after over 26 years of service. In addition to working her fulltime job with the school, she was a housekeeper for many families in the State College area.
Sally ironed like a professional, and she loved it. She loved going to yard sales and flea markets, gathering small trinkets and items over the years. She was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers and anything panda related. She enjoyed OC Maryland, anything animal related, and puzzles. If she was not shopping, she was watching Animal Planet. Her children would tell you that she had to be one of the most patient moms in the world. Raising her family is proof of how hard working, dedicated, and strong she really was.
Sally is survived by on son, Jack Laird (Judy) of Pleasant Gap; four daughters, Penny Wilson (Scott) of West Decatur, Wendy Laird of State College, Sheri Greenleaf (Steve) of State College, and Lisa Reish (Mike) of Warriors Mark; 9 grandchildren, Stephanie Driebelbis (Steve) of Spring Mills, Steven Poorman of State College, Jason Laird (Mitzie) of Bellefonte, Jessica of Centre Hall, Brandon Laird (Jamie) of Centre Hall, Spencer Wilson of West Decatur, Preston Wilson of Altoona, Nathan Wilson of Philipsburg, and Austin Reish (Ashley) of Warriors Mark; many great grandchildren; and three siblings, Barry Weaver, Beverly McClarren, and Sandy Lyle.
Along with her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Laird; one great grandson, Hayden Crawford; and five brothers, Carl, Sherman, Wayne, Philip, and Gary.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, from 10am – 11am at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc in Centre Hall. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11am with Pastor Theresa Heiser officiating. She will be laid to rest at Centre County Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Windy Hill for all the care they provided for Sally.
