William D. Wells, 80 of Long Run Road, Mill Hall, PA passed away June 13, 2026, at the Rose View Rehab and Care Center in Williamsport, where he had been a resident. He was born in Lock Haven, February 10, 1946, to the late David L. and Marie E. Kerchner Wells.
William was a 1964 graduate of the Bald Eagle Nittany High School and had graduated from the Williamsport Area Community College achieving an associate degree in office machine repair. He was a Veteran of the US Marine Corps, having served during Vietnam from 1964 to 1968 being discharged as a Sergent E-5.
William was of the methodist faith. He had been employed with the Hammermill International Paper Company from 1971 until 1987, he then went to work for the Lock Haven University, retiring after 17 years from the custodial department. He was a Life member of the Clinton County Uniformed Fire Police, a Life member of the Lamar Twp. Vol. Fire Company and a Life Member of the North America Hunting Club. He had also served as a trustee of the Rote Mutual Water Company.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Heichel Wells whom he married Oct.2,1970, a son, Shawn W. (Rose Marie) Wells and two grandchildren, Shania Wells and Evan Wells. Also surviving is a brother, Ronald (Jan) Wells and two sisters, Phyllis Beahm and Darla Wells.
Private funeral services and interment will be at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Lamar Township.
