Penn State added another name to the Lackawanna pipeline as junior college offensive lineman JB Nelson committed to the Nittany Lions on Friday afternoon. He marks the 13th member of Penn State’s 2022 recruiting class.
Nelson, rated the No. 2 junior college prospect in the nation, hits the scales at 6-foot-6, 320 pounds and recently visited Penn State in early June and again later in the month.
The is the latest in a long line of Nittany Lions with connections to the junior college as former Lackawanna players at Penn State include safeties Jaquan Brisker and Ji’Ayir Brown as well as receiver Norval Black, punter Bradley King, offensive lineman Anthony Whigan.
Penn State’s class is ranked the eighth best in the nation and the second best in the Big Ten according to the 247 Network. While weekends also open the potential for verbal commitments, Penn State fans will now turn their attention to Tuesday’s announcement by four-star running back Nicholas Singleton.
