‘Pride Ride’ to Celebrate Pride Month in State College

State College will celebrate Pride month and the LGBTQA+ community with a car caravan and after-party on Saturday, June 12.

Participants will decorate their vehicles for the “Pride Ride,” which will begin at 4 p.m. at State College Area High School, travel through part of the borough and conclude at Sidney Friedman Parklet on South Fraser Street.

Space in the caravan is limited but applications are still being accepted at www.statecollegepride.com. A $25 registration fee will benefit the Centre LGBTQA Support Network, which is planning the event with the borough and its LGBTQ Advisory Committee.

Prizes will be given to the groups with the best-decorated cars.

For spectators, the following locations are recommended viewing points:

  • Holmes-Foster Park along Sparks Street
  • Holmes-Foster Park along Westerly Parkway
  • Grassplot along Westerly Parkway
  • Sidney Friedman Parklet along South Fraser Street
Route for the State College Pride Ride to be held at 4 p.m. on June 12, 2021.

After the Pride Ride, an after-party in the parklet will include a performance by Anchor & Arrow and a photobooth/art installation by recent Penn State College of Arts and Architecture student Leo Wang.
