The Blonde Bistro Moving to New Location with On-Site Brew House

A Bellefonte-area restaurant is headed to a new location and adding its own craft beer to the menu.

The Blonde Bistro owner Ciara Semack confirmed Friday on Facebook that this week she finalized the purchase the former Old Farmhouse Eatery and Brewery building at 226 Nittany Valley Drive in Zion.

When it opens in the new location this fall, Semack’s restaurant will be known as Blonde Bistro Brew Works. A specific opening date has not yet been announced.

After previously being located on South Allegheny Street in Bellefonte, The Blonde Bistro moved to Axemann Brewery when it opened in 2020. The restaurant operated independently as the brewery’s in-house food partner until the end of May, when Semack announced she was getting ready to move The Blonde Bistro to a new space.

Axemann Brewery has not yet announced a permanent replacement for the restaurant space but has had a regular rotation of food trucks on site.

The Old Farmhouse closed on June 22 after about three-and-a-half years in business, noting that a sale was pending. The Faussette family opened the restaurant in 2018 in what had long been Michael’s Triangle Tavern and later added the adjoining brewhouse where they produced their own craft beer.

“We want to thank our customers from near and far for supporting our restaurant before, during, and after covid, “the Faussettes wrote on Facebook this week. “There will be a new owner and new restaurant coming soon to 226 Nittany Valley Drive. We hope you will show your support for them and give them as warm a welcome as you gave to us! Our family will miss you all! We worked hard for 4 years to create a successful, warm and inviting restaurant where everyone was welcome and treated as our family! We hope you enjoyed spending time at our place and we will miss you all!”

Though Blonde Bistro Brew Works won’t be opening until sometime in the fall, you can catch Semack and company at the WingFest finals on Aug. 4 at Tussey Mountain after their wings won the round two competition on Thursday night.
