Nu Beauty Bar is set to open a storefront at 419 E. Calder Way in downtown State College.
The beauty store, which has operated a kiosk in the Nittany Mall since 2021, will offer teeth whitening, braiding, waxing and eyelash extension services along with extensions, wigs and ethnic hair products.
Owner and cosmetologist Callie Turner anticipates the new location will open “soon.”
Nu Beauty’s kiosk in the Nittany Mall will continue to operate at the mall in addition to the storefront.
“The people that come to my store are from ages 16 to 80 years old. They are Black, white, Hispanic, Asian…all ethnicities, because a lot of people wear wigs and hair extensions, and I have what they are looking for,” Turner told Onward State in 2021. “…In my store, there is no gender, no race, no prerequisite. It’s all about you and wanting the best products for you.”
For now, Nu Beauty’s Nittany Mall location will be open from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
