BELLEFONTE — Local company SilcoTek has been named one of the Best Places to Work in PA for 2018.
The awards program, created in 2000, is a public/private partnership between Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Central Penn Business Journal.
“I am excited for our employees for being recognized for this great culture that they have helped create,” said Luke Patterson, of SilcoTek marketing and business development. “As SilcoTek has expanded, the culture has not changed, it has just grown bigger. Our vision has always been for employees to enjoy coming to work as much as they enjoy going home. It’s exciting to see that were doing the right things to achieve that goal.”
The Best Places to Work in PA survey and awards program was designed to identify and honor the state’s best places of employment and the companies that are benefiting the state’s economy and workforce. To be considered for participation, a company must be a for-profit or not-for-profit business, be a publicly or privately held business, have a facility in Pennsylvania, have at least 15 employees working in Pennsylvania and have been in business for a minimum of one year.
A two-part process determines the 100 Best Places to Work in PA. For the first part, each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophies, systems and demographics are evaluated. For the second part, an survey is administered to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determine the top companies and the final ranking.
SilcoTek will be recognized at an awards banquet Thursday, Nov. 29, in Lancaster. During the ceremony, rankings will be revealed at the ceremony.
