The Centre County Grange Encampment and Fair is looking for candidates to compete for the title of 2025-2026 Grange Fair Queen.

Young women who are Centre County residents between the ages of 16 and 20 as of June 1, 2025 are eligible. Candidates must be single and never married.

Applications are due by July 1.

Those who are not old enough to compete for the title of fair queen but are between the ages of 13 and 15 can apply to be a part of the Junior Ambassador program. The program is designed to build confidence and give possible future fair queens a close look at what the fair queen, alternate and queen court do. Ambassadors will participate during the fair week in events with the queen’s court and visitors of the fairgrounds.

Two fair queen seminars are planned for July 6 and Aug. 2 at the Grange Fairgrounds in Centre Hall. The seminars allow each applicant to become better familiar with the fair queen program and understand the duties of the Centre County Grange Fair Queen and Ambassador program. Each candidate and a chaperone will meet the current queen, Kryslynn Ronk, as well as the Centre County Grange Fair Queen Committee.

As part of the coronation, all candidates must be available on Wednesday, Aug. 13 to attend several events. A luncheon will be held at Progress Grange in Centre Hall. Contestants will be interviewed by a panel of judges as well as participate in a meet-and-greet with fair officials. They must be prepared to present a 3- to 5-minute speech on “Why Come To My Fair?” during the coronation ceremony, which will be held at 6 p.m. at the Southside Stage on the fairgrounds. The last requirement is an impromptu question asked during the contest.

Those interested in applying to be a contestant for the Centre County Grange Fair Queen title or as a Junior Ambassador should visit grangefair.com/gf-queen/ for guidelines and the application.
