An upcoming outdoor bingo fundraiser will benefit the Centre Region Active Adult Center.

“Beep, Beep Bingo” will be held on Friday, July 28 at the John Hess Softball Complex, 1707 Shingletown Road, according to a news release. Gates open at 5 p.m., with early-bird bingo starting at 6 p.m. and regular bingo at 7 p.m. The rain date is Sunday, July 30.

Registration is $15 per vehicle, regardless of how many people, and includes a book of 10 bingo cards with 6 games per card. Additional bingo books will be available for $10 each, along with early-bird game books at $5 per book.

Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Participants can play from inside their vehicles, listening to the numbers through the radio, or they can set-up lawn chairs outside their vehicles and listen through the sound system. Runners will dispatch when they hear the “beep beep” of a car horn or the call of “Bingo.”

The event will include 10 regular bingo games and five early-bird games, with both offering cash and prizes. Raffle and 50/50 tickets also will be sold, with raffle prizes will awarded during intermission and the 50/50 drawing after the final bingo game.

Centre Region Parks and Recreation’s Rec On The Go truck will be on-site with games such as cornhole and giant Connect 4 and Jenga available throughout the evening. The Big Ugly Taco Truck also will be on hand with tacos and other food for purchase. Water and soda also will be available, and attendees can bring their own food and drinks.

Advanced registration online by noon on July 16 is requested but not required, and the registration fee can be paid at the gate. Organizers recommend arriving early to allow enough time for entry and purchasing bingo cards.

Operated by Centre Region Parks and Rec under the oversight of the Centre County Office of Aging, the Active Adult Center, located in the Nittany Mall, provides programs and activities for seniors age 55 and older.

Proceeds from “Beep, Beep Bingo” will support meal expenses, program and activity supplies and equipment, and center improvements.
