With spring bike season getting underway, Zion Lutheran Church in Boalsburg will host a free Bike Safety Check for the community from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 2.

The event will take place in the parking lot of the church at 105 Old Boalsburg Road and is open to all ages.

Zion is partnering with The Bike Roost, a local bike shop located on the Diamond in Boalsburg. Mechanics from The Bike Roost will be on site to provide quick safety checks and minor adjustments to help riders prepare for the season.

The free checks are designed to catch small issues before they become problems once riders are back on the road or trail. Typical adjustments may include brakes, tire pressure and basic component checks.

No registration is required. Attendees can simply bring their bikes during the two-hour window.

If a bike needs more extensive repair, participants will have the option to schedule a service appointment directly with The Bike Roost.

The event is part of Zion Lutheran Church’s ongoing effort to offer practical, community-focused programming in Boalsburg.
