Grounded in Boalsburg continues its Music on the Lawn series this Sunday, June 14, with the Tussey Mountain Moonshiners. The free concert runs from 4 to 6 p.m. on the lawn at 305 N. Church St., sponsored by Zion Lutheran Church.

The Moonshiners are a local string ensemble that plays bluegrass, old-time, Americana and contemporary music — with a reputation for high energy and a fair amount of humor mixed in. Bring a chair or a blanket, find a spot, and listen.

The series opened May 17 with Rock Hill Revival, drawing a full lawn of Boalsburg families, neighbors, and pets. Eric Zimmett, who covered the event for StateCollege.com in his inaugural “In the Field” column, called it “a front-porch concert, like a neighbor with a guitar on a Sunday afternoon.” Few phones were in sight. Conversation spread across the lawn.

Grounded in Boalsburg is a community initiative sponsored by Zion Lutheran Church, designed to bring people together around the history and everyday life of the town. The church has been part of Boalsburg for more than 200 years, and the initiative hosts events for families, longtime residents, and the wider Centre County community.

Upcoming plans include History Tours with Local Historia (dates to be announced) and a Fall Bike Safety Check with the Bike Roost (dates to be announced), following a community Bike Safety event held this spring.

The June 14 concert is free and open to everyone. The full summer schedule is now posted at groundedinboalsburg.com, with Music on the Lawn continuing July 19 with Porch Party, Aug. 16 with Anything Goes, and Sept. 13 with Andy Tolins — all Sundays at 4 p.m.
