Sweltering heat didn’t deter the hundreds of community members who turned out for the annual parade that kicked off the three-day Pleasant Gap Fire Company Carnival on Thursday evening.
Community groups, youth performers and first responders delighted the crowd along the route, which started at Pleasant Gap Elementary, traveled down Main Street and turned onto Mack Avenue before ending at the carnival, which got underway with a performance by the Bellefonte Area High School Marching Band and music from DJ Troy Breon.
The annual carnival continues Friday and Saturday at 475 Robinson Lane, Pleasant Gap. Chicken barbecues start at 4 p.m. both days, and each night will feature giant inflatables ($15 for unlimited rides), plenty of food and entertainment.
Velveeta will perform from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Big Daddy Bangers play the same time on Saturday. Kids also get a free hot dog and drink on Saturday night.
Check out the sights from Thursday’s parade and the carnival grounds.
