State College Adds New Outdoor Seating to MLK Plaza
State College’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza has become a hub for community activities since 2017. Now a new addition will make it even more inviting for anyone who just wants to spend a little time outdoors.
The borough recently added new tables with attached seats and umbrellas to the plaza on the 100 block of South Fraser Street. The wheelchair-accessible seating makes it “a great location to read, chat with colleagues or even enjoy a lunch break,” a borough news release suggested.
The new tables were made possible by a $7,000 grant from the tourism grant program administered by the Happy Valley Adventure Bureau and the Centre County Board of Commissioners.
