Despite an ongoing legal battle with Penn State over the team’s Medlar Field at Lubrano Park lease, the State College Spikes will play ball for their 20th anniversary season with a wide array of promotions on deck starting in June.

Bobbleheads, coffee mugs, a drone show, BuccoMania, salutes to a meme and Canada and 10 fireworks nights are just some of what’s in store, according to a news release from the club on Wednesday.

Here’s a look at the highlights for the Spikes’ summer, the team’s fifth as a member of the MLB Draft League. The 41-game home schedule opens on June 5, and single-game tickets for every game are available now at StateCollegeSpikes.com, by calling 814-272-1711 or in person at the Spikes Team Office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

DRONE SHOW

The first ever drone show at Medlar Field will light up the sky on July 24 after the Spikes game 6:35 p.m. game against Aberdeen.

6-7 NIGHT

Celebrating the nonsense phrase popularized by youth in 2025 — “It’s still a viral meme,” according to a Spikes press release — the team will become the State College Six Seven Baseball Club for Six Seven Night on (when else?) June 7. Game time for the matchup with West Virginia will be 6:07 p.m. and the night will include themed jerseys that will be up for bid in a Jersey-off-the-Back Auction presented benefiting Children’s Miracle Network.

Bullpen box tickets will be available for $6.70 through the Spikes Ticket Office on game day for all fans who are 6-feet, 7-inches tall, or who are 67 years old. The first 670 fans through the gates will also receive a pair of Six Seven sunglasses, among other tie-ins to the theme.

20TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION WITH BUCCOMANIA NIGHT

The Spikes celebrate two decades on June 20, the 20th anniversary of their first home game at Medlar Field with BuccoMania Night. The 6:35 p.m. game will welcome the Pirate Parrot and the Pittsburgh Pierogies. The Spikes were the Pirates’ short-season single-A affiliate from 2007-12 and are the club’s current MLB Draft League Community Ally Program partner.

BOBBLEHEADS

Mascots that have been an enduring presence throughout the team’s 20 years will get their own bobblehead nights this season. The Nookie Monster, who used to cheer every Spikes run by coming out of the left-center field nook at the ballpark and now does so next to the Spikes bullpen, will be the bobblehead giveaway to the first 1,000 fans on Aug. 9. Ike the Spike, the mascot face of the team since its start, will be featured in the giveaway to to the first 1,000 fans at the penultimate home game of the season on Aug. 30.
