After opening in October of last year in Bellefonte and hosting a range of special events since, Titan Market is welcoming Centre County shoppers for its upcoming Titan’s Art Festival on Friday and Saturday.

“Titan Market has grown into more of a community gathering place,” market founder Corinna Anskis says. “[With] our weekly market, karaoke nights, school celebrations, parties and special event market days, there’s always something happening.”

On a normal Friday or Saturday, the indoor market at 2042 Axemann Road in Titan Energy Park features a growing list of rotating vendors, with offerings from across the state. Vendors sell everything from baked goods to baskets, gifts to grocery items. The upcoming Art Festival will feature the market’s typical vendors, plus artists, craftsmen and music.

“Readers can expect to not only find a wide variety of locally-made art, unique gifts and decor, but also hand-picked nutritious produce, fresh-baked goods, local beef and pork, smoked cheeses, ice cream and so much more,” Anskis says.

Titan’s Art Festival is just one of several new arts and crafts-themed fests to pop up in Centre County this season, as other, larger and more-established festivals have moved online or been canceled due to lingering pandemic concerns. However, the Titan’s Art Festival has a few features that will set it apart from some of the others occurring around the area this month. One of those differentiators? The event’s Young Artist Block.

According to Anskis, the Young Artist Block is a way of “giving our children the opportunity to display and sell their artwork.”

“Art is such a wonderful way for our youth to express themselves,” she says. “This gives them the opportunity to showcase their passion or hobby. Thanks to Stauffer’s Happy Valley Landscaping, we are also able to offer this special section at no charge to the kids.”

Another major differentiator is the event’s indoor setting, which provides vendors and attendees alike with a few special perks.

“Our vendors are inside with lots of space,” Anskis says. “Vendors don’t need to worry about weather or fighting with canopies, etcetera.” That protection from the elements is something that attendees can also appreciate.

However, the new Titan’s Art Festival is hardly the only thing that the venue has planned for the season.

“This event is just one of many taking place at the market this summer,” Anskis says. “In addition to our Arts Festival on July 9 and 10, we will be hosting a celebration party for the kids who participated in our summer reading program on Saturday, July 31.

“We also have auctioneer Al Hamilton holding an auction at the market on July 31. We will be hosting [an] Arts & Crafts Fair at the market this year on August 6 and 7 and will be having a car show on August 14. We are very excited for all that the summer has in store.”Titan’s Art Festival takes place 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Friday, July 9, and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, July 10.
