The YMCA of Centre County’s Anti-Hunger Program is partnering with the Central PA Food Bank to provide monthly free food distributions to local veterans, active military personnel and their families.
MilitaryShare will be held at 10 a.m. the second Monday of each month, beginning Jan. 13, at C3 Sports and Event Center, 200 Ellis Place, State College. The program is designed to provide food assistance to veterans and active military, including those in the Reserves and National Guard, and their spouses.
To participate, individuals must pre-register or register on the day of the event by completing an application and providing proof of military service. The registration form is available on the YMCA of Centre County Anti-Hunger Program website.
For those without transportation, an option is available to authorize another person to pick up food on their behalf.
“YMCA of Centre County and the Central PA Food Bank are committed to supporting the military community by providing essential food resources,” the Centre County Y wrote in a news release. “This initiative will help ensure that veterans and military families have access to nutritious meals to support their well-being.”
