Centre County reported 77 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday to bring its total to 10,925, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Pennsylvania added 6,036 new cases, bringing the statewide total to 824,405. According to the health department, Thursday’s count includes backlogged antigen testing data from urgent care centers, with 1,214 of the new cases having had their specimens collected more than a week ago.
The county also had 60 additional negative test results, increasing its total to 56,396. Across Pennsylvania there were 10,781 new negatives for a total of 3,600,965.
DOH reported three new COVID-19 deaths among Centre County residents to bring the total to 191. Coroner Scott Sayers has confirmed 130 deaths attributed to the virus in Centre County, ranging in age from 55 to 104.
With 198 new COVID-19 deaths reported Wednesday, Pennsylvania’s total is now 21,303.
Mount Nittany Medical Center is currently treating 29 COVID-19 patients, three fewer than Wednesday. The patients range in age from 13 to 96, a hospital spokesperson said.
Statewide, 3,691 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, including 753 in intensive care and 435 on ventilators.
An estimated 81% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, per a health department calculation.
Nursing and personal care homes in Centre County reported one new case among residents. A total of 16 long-term care facilities in the county have had a combined 650 resident cases, 139 employee cases and 149 resident deaths.
According to DOH data, 7,824 people in Centre County have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine to date. Of those, 1,944 have received the required second dose. Statewide, 678,618 have received at least one dose, including 159,199 who have received both.
Among Pennsylvania’s total cases, 722,047 are confirmed and 102,358 are probable. In Centre County, 10,120 are confirmed and 805 are probable.
