An Australian physical theater troupe will bring a performance built around acrobatics, repetition and the pursuit of mastery to Penn State next week.

Gravity & Other Myths will perform “Ten Thousand Hours” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at Eisenhower Auditorium.

Tickets are $52 for adults, $14 for University Park students and $19 for those 18 and younger. A $4 fee is added to online purchases, however, tickets can be purchased by phone at 814-863-0255 or in person at the Eisenhower Auditorium box office from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays without the fee.

The production features eight acrobats and a musician and focuses on the work that goes into developing physical skills. Rather than simply showcasing finished routines, “Ten Thousand Hours” looks at the practice, repetition and discipline behind increasingly difficult movements.

Live percussion accompanies the performers throughout the show, with the music and acrobatics working together as the production moves between moments of strength and vulnerability. The performance also explores the relationships between the ordinary and extraordinary and the ways physical ability can shape people’s lives.

Gravity & Other Myths has built its work around ensemble-based physical theater, with performers relying on one another for timing, balance and support. In “Ten Thousand Hours,” that approach is used to examine what it takes to move from learning a skill to mastering it.

Eisenhower Auditorium is a KultureCity-certified sensory-friendly venue. A designated quiet space is available on the lounge level, and guests can borrow sensory-support items including noise-reducing earmuffs, anti-strobe glasses and lap pads. The KultureCity app also offers information and social stories to help visitors prepare for their experience.

The performance is part of the Center for the Performing Arts’ 2026-27 season. Other upcoming performances include the touring production of “The Wiz” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22; “Clue” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29; Shanghai Ballet’s “Giselle” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5; and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8.
