Three people were taken to the hospital after a Wednesday afternoon crash on Route 26/Water Street at Pine Grove Mountain, according to Ferguson Township police.
The two-vehicle crash occurred at about 4:15 p.m. near the Jo Hays Vista overlook.
Police said a preliminary investigation indicates a 64-year-old Petersburg man was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when he T-boned the second vehicle, which was pulling onto the roadway to head north. He was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center then transferred to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 56-year-old woman from Mount Union, was trapped and had to be extracted. She and her passenger, a 56-year-old woman from McVeytown, were both taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center to be treated for injuries.
Route 26/Water Street was closed in both directions for more than 30 minutes.
