A Penn State student reported Saturday she was raped in the North Halls dormitory complex, university police said.
It happened between about 11:30 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday, according to a University Park police report. The woman knows the man she identified as the assailant, university police Chief Tyrone Parham said.
‘This was an acquaintance situation,’ he said Monday.
Parham said an investigation is under way. No charges had been filed as of Monday morning.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether the alleged assailant is a Penn State student.
But police know of no connection between the case and three stranger rapes linked by DNA evidence in State College borough, Parham said.
‘There’s absolutely no relationship that we’re aware of,’ he said.
No other details were released Monday morning.
