Ag Progress Days is right around the bend and that could mean some especially bad traffic tie-ups in the area.
The huge farm show will be held Aug. 13-15. Nearly 500 vendors will be showing off the latest equipment and technology that\’s being used by the agriculture industry.
The event will be held at the Russell E. Larson Agricultural Research Center on Route 45 at Rock Springs. Even though that\’s nine miles from State College, Ferguson Township Police are warning residents to expect delays.
Potential bottlenecks include Whitehall Road, West College Avenue and Route 45.
The problem may be even worse this year because of the major construction projects occurring on Whitehall Road.
Extra police officers will be on duty to help keep traffic moving, but delays will be inevitable.
Visitors are asked not to stop in traffic lanes to ask officers directing traffic for help. If you need directions, pull off the road and officers will provide help once traffic is moving.
You should also know that Nixon Road between West Whitehall Road and Pine Grove Road will be closed between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Access to the Pine Grove Mills Post Office will be limited to eastbound traffic between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
