An alleged child abuser waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
State College resident Bryan Flickinger, 35, has been charged with felony corruption of minors and misdemeanor indecent assault following an arrest earlier this month. Those charges have been bound over to the Court of Common Pleas, according the Centre County District Attorney’s office.
The charges stem from a 2013 incident in which Flickinger inappropriately fondled a three-year-old child he was babysitting, according to a criminal complaint filed by State College police on Oct. 8.
Police were made aware of the alleged abuse by Child and Youth Services in March, prompting an investigation.
Flickinger reportedly denied touching the child inappropriately, according to the complaint. The child reportedly confirmed details of the assault to CYS as well as a child psychologist brought into the investigation by police.
No hearing date has been set.
