The Nittany Mall will see another business close this spring.

Payless ShoeSource announced on Saturday that it would close all 2,100 of its U.S. stores. Liquidation sales have already begun, and a spokesperson for the shoe retailer told CNN that most stores would remain open until May, though some will close in March.

The company also will end its online store.

Payless is considering filing bankruptcy for a second time, according to CNN. It previously for Chapter 11 protection in 2017, when it closed 400 stores.

For the Nittany Mall, it’s the latest in a series of announced closings in 2019 after seeing a number of businesses shutter their mall locations in 2018.

GameStop and Francesca’s both closed in January. Matthew’s Hallmark Shop previously announced its last day will be Feb. 25 and Gymboree is conducting a going-out-of-business sale as its parent company announced it is filing for bankruptcy and liquidating all of its stores.

Two seasonal stores, Can’s Art and Native Craft, also are both closing until the fall.

One business recently opened in the mall and at least two more are planning to in 2019. KnB’s Inflatables Please indoor family entertainment center is now up and running, while Happy Dishes restaurant and Rampage Room are planning to open later this year.

Last year, the mall saw the closure of Sears, Bon-Ton, Charlotte Russe, Things Remembered, Pearle Vision, Regis Salon, Zales, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, RC’s Dogs, Garfield’s Restaurant and Pub and Old State Deli.

Native Craft, Happy Wraps, Chinese Hot Pot (Gudong) and a Dance Academy of State College studio opened in the mall last year.
