Penn State reports Atherton Street has reopened after emergency tree removal and traffic is moving smoothly.

An emergency tree removal job is disruptimng traffic on a busy State College thoroughfare.
Northbound lanes of N. Atherton Street are closed between Park Avenue and Curtin Road.
Police say southbound lanes will close intermittently to accommodate the tree removal.
The closure began around 8:30 a.m. and will continue for up to eight hours.
If you’re heading in that direction you may want to take an alternative route.
