Candidates Announced for Penn State Alumni Trustee Election

Penn State on Wednesday announced the candidates who will appear on the ballot for election of trustees by alumni this spring.

Four candidates will be seeking three alumni-elected seats on the board, and at least two are guaranteed to be first-time trustees. Incumbents Anthony Lubrano and Ryan McCombie announced after the nomination period closed on Sunday that they would decline nomination for election. Both will conclude their second terms on the board on June 30.

That left Rob Tribeck as the lone incumbent seeking re-election. He garnered enough nominations to appear on the ballot. The board has nine alumni-elected trustees who are elected to three-year terms which are staggered so that three positions are up for election each year.

The four candidates in the order they appear on the ballot are

– Alvin F. de Levie, an attorney and 1973 graduate who resides in Marlton, N.J.

– Robert F. Tribeck, an attorney and 1991 graduate who resides in Enola, Pa.

– Laurie Anne Stanell, a dentist and 1980 graduate who resides in Holicong, Pa.

– Brandon Short, a real estate investment banker, former Penn State football player and 1999 graduate who resides in London, England.

Ballots for the trustee election will be sent by email to Penn State alumni beginning on April 10. All alumni who have already requested and received a ballot for the nomination phase of the election will automatically receive the election ballot. Those who did not and wish to receive and election ballot can request one here.

Biographical information and position statements will be online beginning March 15 at  trustees.psu.edu. 

Online voting must be completed by the close of the election at 9 a.m. EDT on May 3. Election results will be announced at the board’s regular meeting on May 4.
