The Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority is once again offering a mini-grant opportunity to local municipalities, businesses, recycling collection haulers, schools, healthcare institutions and nonprofits.

The mini-grant program will provide reimbursement funds for Centre County-based projects that improve recycling education and collection of materials to be processed by CCRRA. Grant funds are made available based upon the market performance of recycling commodities processed by CCRRA for the prior calendar year with funding levels subject to change each year.

The total amount available for this round of funding is $137,244.50 and mini-grant awards can range from $1,000 to $20,000, depending on the project. Grants require a 50% match, and funds are distributed upon receipt of documented expenses and proof of payment.

Grant applications will be accepted online until Oct. 31. Potential applicants should check the CCRRA website for instructions.

Questions regarding the mini-grant program should be directed to Mimi Cooper, CCRRA Recycling Coordinator, at mcooper@centrecountyrecycles.org or by phone at 814-238-7005.
